Spring skies

Why do you want to change your home decor when a new season arrives? Every season has got something to offer to enrich our lives, we have different tasks in winter than in summer, but they are all important. I welcome spring with its enormous energy of life and growing power, which I think makes its tendrils reach every corner of my home as well.

It makes me want to spring clean every room, polish the windows and set up a new pair of lighter curtains. Increasing amount of sun light makes me want to shift my winter colour scheme for fresher, lighter tones, which mirror the natural seasonal colours. Imagine the April sky, with a hint of ice blue still remaining from winter mixing with golden morning light in the horizon. It is the same time so fresh and delicate that it almost makes you want to hold your breath and not to break it.

How does the change of seasons make you want to change the order in your home? In my place I follow the natural flow of my eyes, it seems to be like a certain path within my home where everything in its place moves to the next position, or if I decide an object needs to be replaced by something new, I do so. I pick a term to describe the essence of my living room I feel I want to create, and follow my instincts through the path to accomplish it.

I usually start by rotating art on my walls into new position and introducing new pieces of work as well. By finding your own collection of ceramics, pots or what ever you have hiding inside your cupboards, you can create your personal display for an interesting focal point. Give the objects space to breath, do not stuff the place too much, as you don’t want items to fight of attention with each other.
